AAPHC is one of the largest Community Health Centers in our region.  Community Health Centers (CHCs) are clinical practices of primary care providers available to provide medical care to all individuals, regardless of a patient's socioeconomic status. We have fees comparable to the area; acceptance too of Medicare, Medicaid, and other third party insurance, as well as offering reduced fees for eligible patients.

The services we provide are needed and meet the perceived needs of the area. The community is willing to utilize the services.

We are located in the service area and there are adequate means for the service population to avail themselves of our services. Some examples which can readily be identified are the bus service for patients in Albany, as well as, our proximity to the patients in the census tracts to be served.

NCQA recognition means we’ve made the grade and have been recognized for complying with rigorous national performance standards that promote quality health care delivery.

How does the organization operate?
Albany Area Primary Health Care is a non-profit community health center.  Our organization is comprised of more than 27 locations, 26 clinical sites, two Pharmacy offices, and one administrative location. Each clinic is staffed with providers, nursing and business professionals, as well as a clinic manager. Each clinic operates under the policies and procedures of the organization and all reporting is centralized through the Administrative office. AAPHC is governed by a Board of Directors that oversees the operation of the organization and ensures that all federal and state requirements are maintained.

The Bureau of Primary Health Care has deemed the Health Center - Albany Area Primary Health Care - to be an employee of the Federal Government for the purpose of Section 224(h). Any individual working for AAPHC or contracted independently for primary care services is covered under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) for medical, surgical, and dental related functions while acting within the scope of employment.
