Olusola Justin Ayankola, M.D., serves as the Director of Behavioral Health at Albany Area Primary Health Care and is a board-certified general psychiatrist.

A native Texan, Dr. Ayankola earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, graduating summa cum laude in honors studies from Texas Tech University in Lubbuck, TX. He then went on to earn his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, completing his psychiatric clerkships at Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital.

Upon graduation, Dr. Ayankola completed his general psychiatry residency at Yale University, where his primary outpatient experience was at Yale Health caring for professional, graduate, and undergraduate students at Yale University—one of the most integrated university behavioral health clinics in the country.

He would go on to complete advanced child and adolescent fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center in the Solnit South track. His primary training site would be at Albert J. Solnit Psychiatric Center in Middletown, CT—the only state psychiatric hospital for youth in Connecticut. This facility cared for youth that suffered from extensive psychopathology and the average length of stay spanned from four months to several years. During his final year of training, Dr. Ayankola was chosen by his peers and faculty to serve as program-wide chief.

Dr. Ayankola is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and currently serves as a community faculty member at the Yale Child Study Center.

In his free time, Dr. Ayankola enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He’s a fan of Texas Tech basketball and all  Texas professional sports teams. He is falling in love with the University of Georgia, his wife’s alma mater.
